The seventh session of the Intro to Flight program was held at the Gateway Youth Aeronautical Foundation (GYAF) on Saturday. The morning and afternoon classes began with a motivational talk by special guest Allyssa Van Meter, also known as Fly Allyssa, a commercial pilot currently flying a Cessna Grand Caravan for a national real estate survey company. The students learned to plot courses on sectional charts and calculate basic flight plan data. They also honed their flying skills with graded pattern flying on the virtual-reality sims. Thanks to instructor Dave Kleinschmidt and all who helped make this another great learning experience.
